:: The Clock is Ticking
Mechanics represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) may choose to go on strike tonight if they don't get a deal with employer Northwest Airlines.
Something that has been missing from the headlines is the fact that NWA could "lock out" AMFA if they don't like the terms of a deal...the mechanics aren't the only ones with the ability to "self-help". Despite all the quotes from NWA management that they "aren't trying to break the union," all employees should remember that the lock pictured above is very real...and NWA isn't afraid to use it.
