Hello the Camp!

Meggisi Lake has ONE cabin on it...and here it is:

This cabin is owned by Larry and Mary Adams of L&M Fly-in Outposts. Originally established by frontier hunters and trappers in the mid-1900's, this cabin has gone through many facelifts and upgrades over the years. The cabin sits upon a small island in a western bay of Meggisi. Up until L&M gained ownership in 1994, this camp was owned and operated by Rusty Meyers Flying Service. L&M service the cabin via airplane, as the Crown Lands it sits upon are (by Crown Decree) only accessible by airplane.

The landing at Camp Meggisi is sheltered by the bay that the island sits in (see map). A floating dock and moor point for float planes has been secured by rock cribs, as the shore is made of sheer granite outcroppings. L&M provides 2-4 boats and motors as a part of the cabin accommodations.

Inside the cabin, one would think they have stepped into a modern cabin closer to civilization. Thanks to implements from L&M, and the available air transport...and some modern ingenuity...the cabin is state-of-the-art as outposts go. Propane and electricity are the staples of modern comforts, as they provide power to water service and heat, lighting, refrigeration, and cooking power. A large solar panel near the lakeshore charges a battery array that provides power to electric lighting and a water pump. Propane gas powers a refrigerator, stovetop/oven, water heater, and barbeque grill. Cabin heat is enhanced by a sheepherder-style wood stove. Water fixtures include a full-size kitchen sink and stand-up shower, served by both hot and cold water. No more washing lakeside!!
